These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to the Smart Guy Math website and tutoring services. Smart Guy Math is an online tutoring service operated by BLUE SALAMANDER WEB MARKETING (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using this website or arranging tutoring with us, you agree to these Terms.

Tutoring services

Smart Guy Math provides one-on-one online tutoring, currently focused on AP Calculus AB and BC. Tutoring is educational support and is not a substitute for a student’s own coursework. We are an independent tutoring service and are not affiliated with the College Board, any school, or any testing organization.

Scheduling

Lessons are arranged directly between you and Tom by email, phone, or text. We work together to find lesson times, and specific arrangements are agreed on a case-by-case basis.

Payment

Payment arrangements for tutoring are agreed directly with you. When online payment is available, payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not see or store your card details.

Cancellations and rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please let us know as early as you reasonably can so we can adjust. Any specific cancellation or rescheduling arrangements are agreed directly between you and Tom.

Online tutoring and technology

Lessons take place online using screen sharing and a digital whiteboard. You are responsible for having a reliable internet connection and a device capable of joining an online session. Technology issues occasionally happen; if a session is disrupted, we will work with you to continue or reschedule it.

Educational outcomes

Tutoring can help a student understand the material and prepare, but learning depends on many factors. We do not guarantee any particular grade, test score, exam result, or other academic outcome.

Acceptable use

Please use this website and our tutoring services lawfully and respectfully. Do not misuse the site, attempt to disrupt it, or use our materials in a way that infringes the rights of others.

Limitation of liability

Smart Guy Math and BLUE SALAMANDER WEB MARKETING provide tutoring and this website on a reasonable-effort basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from the use of this website or the tutoring services. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any rights you have that cannot legally be limited.

Text messages (SMS)

If you provide a phone number and opt in on the contact form, we may send tutoring-related text messages about your inquiry, scheduling, reminders, and customer service. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle phone numbers and SMS consent.
